Agents/brokers
- Trained & certified to sell Marketplace health plans in the state they're licensed
- Help you apply & enroll in a Marketplace health plan (with any eligible savings)
- Answer your coverage questions about the plans they sell
- Generally paid by insurance companies whose plans they represent
- Required in many states to act in your best interest
- Some may not sell plans from insurance companies they don’t represent
- Can refer you for Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) application help
Note: You can qualify for a premium tax credit and other savings if you enroll with an agent or broker. But to get the savings, the agent or broker must enroll you through the Marketplace
